Hey guys! So I am back with an exciting first impression. However I am serious late with my review, apologies.
If you follow me on Twitter or Snapchat, then you will know that I am a big big fan of Kylie cosmetics lip kits. And I was one of the lucky people who managed to grab a piece of the limited edition birthday collection.
Now I had tried on the first stock of this collection to grab the piece I first fell in love with- the Leo lip kit. However I never managed to get it, which just made me more determined for the next restock to make sure I got it.
Now I know that a lot of people everywhere have spoken about the issues they have had with Kylie cosmetics or just the customer services process on its own. But I am just going to put it out there that I have had six separate orders from them and have never had any problems- maybe I am just lucky. Who knows?
But what I will say is that I don’t think it is fair to publicly bash a new start up company purely because of who owns and is running it, or just because you have had one bad experience.
This is a new company and the demand and pressure for it to be outstanding has been there since the very beginning. So of course, if a mistake is made from within the company- it should be something that is expected. But it is still a very new company and brand so there will be rough patches. Maybe hold off on the public slander and give it a second chance? I don’t know.
Anywho! For me being a firm lover of the lip kits I was so excited when I seen this deep red/burgundy liquid lipstick being released especially with the limited edition golden packaging which is just to die for.
But my first impressions of this lip kit aren’t at all my favourite. This colour reminded me a lot of my experience with ‘Kourt K’. The kit went on pretty patchy to begin with and as much as I argued with myself to not put a second layer on I had to because there were gaps where you could see my natural lip colour through.
And while this fixed the pigment problem, it was way to thick with two layers of liquid lipstick. So sadly I had to wipe it off and I have yet to try it again for a second time.
Maybe one day, I’ll try it again and I might have a completely different opinion. But until then, the Leo Lip Kit is a firm no from me.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
